Sacred Circle Dance
Presenters John and Marina Bear founded the Bay Area Circle Dancers, which has danced every Friday for 23 years as well as established other sacred circle dance groups across the country. Maureen Atkins and Sienna Wildwind teach dance regularly, and Heather Thompson and David Buchanan facilitate the sacred circle dance group in Nashville, Tennessee.

Far Horizons is delighted to welcome back the Bay Area Sacred Circle Dancers. A favorite at camp since 1987, this program provides magical opportunity for us to reclaim a cornerstone of our human heritage - the joy of community dance

Sacred Circle Dance is a program for dancers and non-dancers alike. Each dance is taught first, requiring no partners or special skills. These dances are drawn from the folk traditions of many cultures including Celtic, Balkan, Israeli, Rom (Gypsy), the Americas (Native American, Shaker, Cajun, as well as Mexico and Canada), and more.

There are Sacred Circle Dance groups in northern California, Tennessee, New England, and all over Canada and Western Europe. We invite you to join us and get caught up in the movements and rhythms of the planet.
